– Common Fisheries Policy
Presentation by the Commission of delegated and implementing acts concerning certain discard plans (and other issues), and exchange of views with the Commission on the Public Consultation on Technical Measures

– Fisheries in the Mediterranean
Provisions for fishing in the GFCM (General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean) Agreement area – Consideration of draft report
The proposal aims to transpose into Community law GFCM recommendations. The GFCM, a so-called Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (RFMO), was set up by an international agreement in 1949. The area covered by the agreement comprises the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and connecting waters. The main tasks of the GFCM are to promote the development, conservation, rational management and best utilization of living marine resources, as well as the sustainable development of aquaculture in the Mediterranean and Black Sea.

– Fisheries Partnership Agreements with the Republic of Senegal and the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe
Exchange of views with Commission representatives (Senegal) & Consideration of draft report (São Tomé and Príncipe)

– New studies
Presentation of a study on ‘The long-term economic and ecological impact of large-scale sustainable aquaculture’, by Alistair Lane of the European Aquaculture Society

– Hearing on the ‘The Oyster Industry in Europe: Challenges for Producers’ (6 November, 15:00-18:30)
