The EU and Norway have agreed on the management of shared fish stocks in the North Sea for 2012.
The agreements set the total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas for the shared stocks in the North Sea, Skagerrak and Kattegat. The Norwegian Government announced the agreement on Friday 2 November.
The agreement can be found on the Norwegian government’s web site:
- Protocol of Fisheries Consultations between the European Community, on behalf of Sweden, and Norway 2012
- Agreed Record of Conclusions of Fisheries Consultations between the European Community and Norway for 2012
- Agreed Record of Conclusions of Fisheries Consultations between the European Community and Norway on the Regulations of Fisheries in the Skagerak and Kattegat for 2012
A shorter summary of the TACs can be found on the EU Commission’s web site.
The final decision on the EU’s TACs and quotas for 2012 will be made by the 27 fisheries ministers at the Council meeting 15-16 December.
