The Fisheries Committee in the European Parliament today approved the renewal of the protocols of the Fisheries Partnership Agreements with São Tomé and Príncipe and with the Seychelles.
Whether the European Parliament follows the committee decision on these two dossiers will be decided during the plenary session 22-23 June 2011 in Brussels.
After the votes, the Fisheries Committee held a discussion on Isabella Lövin’s draft report on Combating illegal fishing at the global level. Other MEPs will be able to table amendments to the report until 20 june. The Fisheries Committee will also organize a meeting with representatives from Japan, China and the US to discuss the issue of combating illegal fishing globally, 16 June.
