The Fisheries Committee in the European Parliament will have an extra meeting in Strasbourg on 4 April.
The extraordinary PECH Committee meeting on 4 April in Strasbourg will see the adoption of an opinion by Mrs Patrão Neves (PT, EPP) on the EU programme to support the further development of an integrated maritime policy, for which the PECH Committee is associated with the TRAN Committee (transport).
The meeting will also be dedicated to the so-called “structured dialogue” with the Commission on the political and legislative priorities for 2012. Needless to say, the Members’ debate with Commissioner Maria Damanaki is expected to focus on the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) reform package – of which several elements are expected to be adopted by the Commission before the summer break.
