MercoPress: African coastal states organize network to tackle illegal fishing
Representatives from African coastal states attended a UK Foreign Office organised workshop from 3-6 August in South Africa, to build capacity in tackling illegal fishing. Illegal fisheries operators in the Southern Ocean, largely catching valuable Patagonian Toothfish, are targeting African states for flags and port services.
