Hosted by the African Union (AU) and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), this is the first Conference of African Ministers of Fisheries and Aquaculture (CAMFA). The event will be held in Banjul, The Gambia, 20-23 September 2010.

The Conference’s theme is “African Fisheries and Aquaculture: Contributing towards Agricultural Development and Economic Growth”.

Civil Society Organisations, including african small-scale fisheries organisation, coastal communities, journalists and NGOs have launched a website, Our Fish Our Future, to facilitate the dissemination of their views and publicise their activities during the conference.
