According to the work programme of the Belgian Presidency, which was presented to Ministers attending the 12 July Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting, negotiations and agreement on Total Allowable Catches (TACs) and quotas for fish catches in 2011 will take up a large part of the Fisheries Council workplan.
The schedule is as follows:
- TACs and quotas for the Baltic Sea: proposal mid-September, political agreement at the October Council (25-26 October in Luxembourg);
- TACs and quotas for deep-sea stocks in 2011 and 2012: proposal end of September, political agreement at the November Council (29-30 November in Brussels);
- General TAC and quota Regulation: proposal end of October, political agreement at the December Council (13-14 December in Brussels);
- TACs and quotas for the Black Sea: proposal in November, political agreement at the December Council.
